Eagles and Eagle Island

The CQ crew have eagle eyes and have seen some interesting eagle activity since they arrived for their long weekend. They noted that one of the eagles had flown in carrying something in its talons and landed on the beach. They could see feathers flying but could not see what the animal was. After I arrived I rowed Pashmina to shore and discovered the pile of sea gull feathers. I gathered a few of them for mementos and shared them with the CQ crew.

Another interesting sighting for them was an eagle flew down from its perch high in a Douglas Fir tree and landed gently into the water. He then began to flap his wings into the water and propel himself. I have seen eagles do this before and it is quite the sight to see.
